Alma Resort Cam Ranh
When making a reservation at Alma Resort Cam Ranh you are choosing a multi layered vacation full of action packed activities, feel-good options and extensive culinary choices. Situated on the Cam Ranh peninsula within 30 hectares of beautifully manicured gardens, you can also choose to relax, recharge and enjoy the natural surroundings and expansive Long Beach during your stay. What we can assure you is that from the breathtaking sunrise until the enchanting sunset, getting bored during your time at Alma Resort is certainly not on the agenda.
Choose from a selection of modern and stylish pavilions and suites; with one, two and three bedrooms for those of you travelling with your family. What we loved about Alma Resort Cam Ranh is that each and every one of the well appointed pavilions and suites boast stunning South China sea views, and that breathtaking sunrise for those who can extract themselves from their divinely comfortable bed. What we also loved, was our one bedroom Ocean Front Pool Pavilion. It provided us with the perfect dilemma every single day, do we head out and enjoy everything the resort has to offer, or do we stay exactly where we are and enjoy our simply stunning home. It was a constant battle which was made a little easier by maximising each day with sunrise yoga and late night swims in our private pool. Please can we stay forever?
The Vegan Food
Dining options are plentiful at Alma Resort Cam Ranh with something for everyone available from the 14 food and beverage venues. The commitment to offering more plant based dishes throughout the resort is clear to see, and the team are eager to cater for guests by adapting dishes where possible to make them vegan.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in either ‘Alma Garden’ which offers an extensive buffet with live stations, or ‘La Casa’ for those who would like to order a la carte in a more relaxed setting. When your bread basket is served with vegan banana walnut muffins and banana bread, you know you’re on to a winner. We also enjoyed local breakfast favourites, bánh bèo, little cups of steamed dense rice flour topped with fried shallots and sliced green onions. Our vegan sushi were stuffed with tofu, beans, carrot, cucumber and radish, and of course the ultimate luxe breakfast experience is the floating breakfast delivered to your private pavilion, where you can start your day with a pool based feast whilst posing for social media shots!
During our stay we enjoyed a wonderful meal in the beachfront ‘Atlantis’ restaurant, which although specialising in seafood offers a vegan menu upon request for guests who would prefer their food to be plant based. ‘La Casa’ also has a vegan menu featuring Italian salads, pizzas, pastas and risotto. Our Italian feast was followed by ‘off menu’ creations of vegan apple strudel and vegan berry crumble leaving us very happy indeed. Other dishes we enjoyed during our stay included the obligatory Vietnamese fresh spring rolls (served with a delightful peanut sauce) and plenty of healthy and vibrant salads. One of our favourites was a flavour packed dish of tofu and mushrooms in tomato sauce, full of juicy sweet tomato flavour and a hint of soy and chilli to remind us we are in Asia after all. And no trip to Vietnam is complete without more spring rolls, this time the friend ones, packed with a delicious mix of smashed tofu, taro and mung beans, mushrooms, rice noodles, shallots, garlic and heaps of black pepper.
The Vegan Essentials
We know it will be hard to leave Alma Resort during your stay, but please don’t miss out on a generous slice of cultural and culinary immersion by joining the ‘Journey through Local Culture and Cuisine’ tour with the wonderful team from Zazen Travel. Alma Resort have partnered with this local boutique tour operator to curate a series of experiences that will ensure guests learn a little about what makes this coastal Vietnamese neighbourhood special. Our tour including exploring the local Cam Duc market where we snacked on seasonal fruits, sweet potato crackers and accidentally vegan snacks. We also visited an organic mango farm, made mango cake and enjoyed iced mango tea, before visiting a truly unique Buddhist pagoda that has been a thirty year labour of love for the resident monk. After our morning explorations we ended back at Alma Resort where our cooking class saw us prepare a perfectly plant based lunch. Chef Thanh was a patient instructor, and Christina was the perfect host, making for a memorable post tour lunch.
Pamper yourself with treatments at Le Spa, a tranquil oasis in the heart of the resort where the team of spa professionals will ensure your visit is memorable. For those who wish to be more active (maybe not a bad idea after all the food that’s available) you can workout in the modern gym, join a class in the stylish yoga studio or swim in one of the literally countless pools. Kids will love the kids club, the youth club, the science museum, and of course the water park. Whilst everyone can enjoy practicing their short game on the mini 18 hole golf putting green. There is literally something for everyone at Alma Resort Cam Ranh.
The Vegan Food Quest Verdict
Whether you want your vacation to be action packed, or the ultimate in relaxation, they’ve got you covered at Alma Resort Cam Ranh. We’re excited to see what the culinary future holds as they become more vegan friendly which at the same time as having a positive environmental impact, allows their guests to select healthy plant based food during their vacation. They are certainly on a journey to become even more sustainable with the installation of solar panels, and reduce their environmental impact (check out the excellent End Plastic Soup initiative) which we loved to see, and offering more vegan food can hopefully play a part in this journey.
We were guests of Alma Resort Cam Ranh but please rest assured that their generosity in hosting us didn’t influence our views.
